Treating your voice like someone you love.

When you think about your voice, what do you want from it?

Maybe you want it to be stronger.

More reliable.

To stop shaking when you're nervous.

To hit that high note, nail the audition, or finally feel good about how you sound.

I get it. I've wanted all those things, too!

But here's something I've been thinking about lately…

What if we spent a little less time asking what our voices can do for us, and a little more time asking what we can do for our voices?

For a long time, I treated my voice like an employee who was supposed to show up, do its job, and deliver results.

No matter what was going on in my life, I expected it to perform.

Then, after my dad passed away in 2014, I went through a period when my voice simply wasn't responding the way I expected it to.

I was grieving, exhausted, and trying to push through a concert at Carnegie Hall.

And pushing harder wasn't the answer.

It took time for me to understand that my voice wasn't something separate from me.

It was connected to everything I was experiencing.

That realization changed the way I approached singing....and it's at the heart of the work I do today.

What if your singing practice could be a way of taking care of yourself, rather than another place where you have to prove yourself?

You don't have to sound amazing for singing to be worthwhile. You don't have to hit every note perfectly to deserve the experience of singing.

Singing can be nourishing all on its own.

And when we take care of ourselves-our bodies, our nervous systems, our energy, and the way we speak to ourselves- we create better conditions for our voices to thrive, too.

So here's a little experiment for you:

The next time you warm up, try letting go of the goal of improving your voice for a few minutes.

Instead, ask yourself:

What would it feel like to simply take care of my voice today?

Maybe you focus on SOVT exercises. Getting more sleep. Drinking more water.

No pressure. No gold stars. Just a little time to tune in and tend to yourself.

And hey! If you'd like some company/support/guidance as you explore this, I've created something just for you!

The 7-Day Vocal Reboot starts this Saturday, November 8!

Think of it as a little vocal spa week: a chance to give your voice some TLC, get out of your head, and reconnect with your singing and the dreams that matter to you.

Here's what you'll get:

  • Lifetime access to my Vocal Reconnect Mini Course, with three video warm-ups featuring my favorite SOVT exercises, seven guided meditations, and seven journaling worksheets.

  • Community support, with our own, private community hub with daily check-ins, encouragement, and a chance to connect with other singers.

  • Two live calls with me to kick things off, set intentions, reflect, celebrate, and explore your next steps.

You can make this week your own.

→ Maybe you want to establish a gentle daily singing practice.

→ Maybe you want to reconnect with a dream you've been putting off.

→ Maybe you simply need a little space to remember why you love singing in the first place.

Whatever your goals, this is a week to stop demanding more of yourself and start tending to what matters.

And here's the important part: registration closes Saturday, November 7.

The Vocal Reboot is just $37, and the Vocal Reconnect Mini Course alone normally costs $97. I'm planning to offer this challenge again down the road, but not for a while....and not at this introductory price.

If you've been thinking about joining, I'd love to have you with us!

YES! I WANT TO JOIN THE 7-DAY VOCAL REBOOT

We'll begin Sunday, November 8, and spend the week giving our voices (and ourselves!) a little extra love.

You deserve a week that's just for your voice. ❤️

I hope I'll see you there!
